Happiness Circle™ ("we", "us", "our") is an independent community based in Lakewood Ranch, Florida 34211, United States, founded and facilitated by the founder of the Happiness Leadership Institute. This Privacy Policy explains what personal information we collect through this website (happinesslwr.com and related pages), why we collect it, how we use and protect it, and the rights available to you under applicable law, including the Florida Digital Bill of Rights (Fla. Stat. §§ 501.701 et seq.).
Information we collect
When you join the club, subscribe to the newsletter, RSVP to a gathering, or contact us, we may collect:
- Your name (first and last, if provided)
- Email address
- Phone number (optional)
- The event you RSVP'd to and the date of sign-up
- The message content you send through our contact form
- Basic technical data (IP address, browser type, pages visited) collected automatically by our hosting provider for security and analytics
We do not collect payment information on this site. We do not knowingly collect sensitive personal data (such as biometric, genetic, precise geolocation, or health data), and we do not sell or share your personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising or targeted advertising as those terms are defined under Florida law.
How we use your information
We use the information you provide to confirm your sign-up, send reminders about upcoming Happiness Circle gatherings, deliver our weekly newsletter, respond to inquiries, and share news and offers about Happiness Circle events, retreats, workshops, and related paid programs, including programs offered by the Happiness Leadership Institute and other partners of the founder. By joining the club or subscribing, you consent to receive these promotional communications. Every email includes a one-click unsubscribe link as required by the federal CAN-SPAM Act.
How we share information
We share personal information only with the service providers we use to operate the site and send emails (for example, our database host, email delivery, and analytics providers), and only to the extent needed to provide those services. We do not sell your personal information. We may disclose information if required by law or to protect the rights, safety, or property of Happiness Circle or others.
Cookies and analytics
This site uses a small number of essential cookies and similar technologies to keep the site functional and to measure aggregate, non-identifying traffic patterns. Data retention
We keep sign-up and contact data for as long as you remain subscribed or until you ask us to delete it. Unsubscribed addresses are retained on a suppression list solely to honor your opt-out.
Your rights (Florida residents and others)
Under the Florida Digital Bill of Rights and similar state laws, you may have the right to: confirm whether we process your personal data; access a copy of that data; correct inaccuracies; delete your data; obtain a portable copy; and opt out of the sale of personal data, targeted advertising, or profiling with legal effects (we do not engage in these activities). To exercise any of these rights, email info@happinessleadership.institute. We will respond within the timeframe required by law (generally 45 days). You may appeal a denial by replying to our response.
Your Privacy Choices. You can also signal your privacy preferences through the "Global Privacy Control" or "Do Not Track" settings in your browser. We honor those signals as an opt-out of any sale or sharing of personal information to the extent required by applicable law.
How to unsubscribe
Every email we send includes a one-click unsubscribe link. You can also email info@happinessleadership.institute and we'll remove you from all lists within a few days.
Security
Sign-up data is stored in a secure, access-controlled database and is viewable only by the Happiness Circle host and authorized administrators. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure, but we take reasonable measures to protect your information.
Children
The Happiness Circle is intended for adults. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13, consistent with the federal Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA).
Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The "Last updated" date at the top of this page reflects the most recent revision.
